1997 Oldenburg Gelding (Welt Hit II x Abresca) Wringo is Ali's personal, and forever, heart horse. He was imported as a youngster and started his life in the dressage arena, then moved on to eventing. From there, Wringo dabbled in jousting, and finally a career in the hunters with Ali (Ok and occasionally western pleasure!) Together they have won numerous awards and year end titles on several circuits. Now at 17 years old, Wringo is retired from the competitive show ring, but still travels to shows with Ali, and competes locally here and there.
Venus de Tejas
1998 Belgium Warmblood Mare (Galant x Pirate Jenny) April and Ali started their lived together in 2012 when Ali was hired to give the pasture puff a job, that quickly turned into a successful, promising hunter career. April was then sold to a home in Boerne, TX, where she spent two years doing dressage, and when her owner decided it just wasnt her thing, she called Ali to get the mare back into the hunter/jumper ring to find her forever place, and just two months later it was decided that forever place was here at South Coast. Ali and April have began showing in the jumper divisions, and will continue their careers together moving onward and upward!
2003 KWPN Gelding (Heirarch x Venus de Tejas) Dan is the only son of Venus de Tejas. He's got a personality like no other, and is pretty much an overgrown 2 year old. Dan really hadn't done much with his life when Ali got him in the summer of 2012, and was kind of put on the back burner til mid 2013. Dan was on his way to becoming a jumper when a pasture injury has left his future as a competition horse uncertain. Fortunately, all is going well, and recovery seems promising. No matter what the outcome, Dan will live his life out with South Coast and live the pampered life as usual.
South Coast Riptide
2008 Thoroughbred Cross Gelding (Unknown x Unknown) Zip is the kid-brother of South Coast, that gets himself in trouble every chance he gets. He was rescued by a client as a yearling, broke and started by Ali, and then officially became a South Coast horse in 2012. He has dabbled in everything, and is truly a jack of all trades horse. Zip is a stellar trail horse, has been started over fences, had some basic dressage training, has done search and rescue, has been used as a ranch horse, and is now in training to be a playday horse.
South Coast Turnaround Bay
2004 Thoroughbred Gelding (Silver Ghost x Military Maid) If you think Zip does it all, wait'll you meet Bay. Bay came here with a 'career' as a rope horse, and after Ali put him in the box one time, that all changed. He was very clear that Roping was not something he enjoyed, so his career made a complete 180, jumps were set up, and he was given a chance to prove himself. Well prove himself he did as the jumps went up to almost 4' tall and 4' wide, Bay never lost heart and quit trying. Bay is in full training to be a jumper, is an incredible trail horse, has basic dressage training, pushes cows, is a talented payday horse, and is now used for beginner walk/trot lessons! Bay is currently in College Station with J. Leigh Horse Training for the simple fact that Ali likes him too much to sell him, and if he stayed at our ranch, she never would.
South Coast Bayliner
2007 Quarter Horse Gelding (Waiting)
Ricky came to use in March of 2013, with limited handling and was only halter broke. He is an absolute delight, and in less than a week he is trotting comfortably under saddle. This guy is ranch bred, and will continue his training under western tack. We arent quite sure what we will finish him as but playdays, ranch work, roping, and trail are all in his future!
South Coast Akoya
2007 Quarter Horse Mare (Waiting)
This beautiful mare leaves us impressed every day. She came to us in March 2014 as a completely untouched horse. She had never worn a halter, and never been handled outside of feeding. In her first two hours of working with Ali, she was halter broke and loaded on a trailer without breaking a sweat. Within 4 days, Ali had sat on her twice. Koy has a spunky personality, and is still coming out of her shell, but when she really gets there, she will make one heck of a horse. She will mainly be finished out in western disciplines, but will likely try her hand under english tack as well.
South Coast Spring Break
2009 Thoroughbred Cross Mare (Unknown x Unknown) SB was here for a week in the summer of 2013, and officially became a South Coast horse in March of 2014. She hadnt done much with her life before coming here, and was hardly broke under saddle. Original plans to make her a barrel and pole bending horse were thrown out the window once this mare started to really show her stuff, and she will be finished as a hunter.
1998 AQHA Gelding (Unknown x Unknown) Dynomite is Bills rope horse, and our main lesson horse. He's a smart horse that is very in tune with his rider, be it a 5 year old that's never ridden before, or tracking steers with Bill. Though his entire life has revolved around western riding, steers, and ranch work, he seems to really enjoy his job under English tack, too!
